My January in photos

Dear January,

Thank you for being snowfilled and adventurous.
Thank you for letting my go to school one day last week and have a fun snowball fight with my friends. Thanks for all the toasted bagels, the mounds of toast and syruppy waffles. (yes, I do like breakfast foods)
Thanks for keeping  me stranded at my house due to weather, forcing me to spend more time with the family. I enjoyed it.
Thanks for a fun night of dancing.
Thanks for the warm wintery feeling in our house :)

xx
Jesby

Snow! And I don't mean the yellow kind...

This is pretty much all I ate during my snow days. Bagels.

Awkward photos before JA

A Night in Monte Carlo

This weekend has been quite eventful for me. I found a date to tolo and adventured to Silverdale on our scavenger hunt  to piece together this puzzle

and guess what?
he said yes.
:)

And then, I spent a night in Monte Carlo.

But not really, that was just the theme to the Junior Assembly dance I went to last night.
It was lots of fun with these two pretties,

It took two hours to get ready and I wore more make up than I ever hope to again!
On the dance floor we avoided feeling violated by staying out on the fringes,
but I couldn't help but almost be knocked to the floor when some people rushed to center of the floor like a raging rhinoceros.
What dancing does to some people.
I also played blackjack and lost almost all my chips,
but my friends were nice and gave me theirs to gamble away.
Some friends they are, feeding my gambling addiction!
Jokes,
it wasn't real money, it was just for raffle tickets.

Then, we went to Sonic and ate mozzerella sticks in our elegant dresses.
Classy.

Good night?

I think so. :)

P.s.
Most awkward picture of the night.

I mean, what are we doing?
Why am I lifting my dress?
What is Myra laughing at?
And why is Charley looking so confused?

:)

Vintage Times

I love colorful clothes pins.

:)

And I have found that it is super easy to take some acrylic paint to brighten them up!
I currently have some brightly painted ones holding up some photos of mine in my room.
They're great :)

Snow-tastic

3rd day of school cancelled and this is what I wake up to.
Some fantastic snow right there.

See, I love snow days but only in moderation. I get cabin fever. My mother doesn't know how to drive in the snow, and me, being a newly licensed driver who has drven by herself 2 times, does not either. My father is at work and unfortunately can't be my choeuffer everywhere. So I am left here, in our warm house.
Unable to go anywhere.
At all.
I go a little crazy after the second day.

So, I love snow and snow days! Just not shen there are so many.
Plus, it's cutting into my summertime, people! Unlike those lucky seniors who don't have to make up school for these wonderous winterland days, I DO!

Thoughts?

So, I'm trying out a new template set up for the little blog! I like it better, but I'm not sure if I should keep it.... Any thoughts, comments or suggestions are certainly welcome and enjoyed! :)

I be Bowlin' all day, er'day

My friend Charlie showed me this one :)
Got more than a few laughs out of me.
Therefore, I think it's simply lovely and a little more than dorky.

enjoy!

The chilly side of life

There's something about snow that makes me happy. I think it's the having the chance to miss school, dress up in warm cloths, throw snowballs at each other and maybe even some hot chocolate and snuggling. Snow makes bearing the cold worthwhile with every unique ice crystal that falls from the trees. It stirs up life and creates change in the continuous cycle of everyday life. It's the time when we get to use up the firewood and break out the scarves and tacky snow gear we've stored all year. Even the birds come out to find little caches of seeds stored in the spring. It brings my family together, even when we don't want to, as we stick close to the warmth of the fire in our family room. Snow is not seen often. So, I think it's a great gift for January :)

These are just some pictures I took at the beach the other day, and I forgot to
include them in an earlier post so here they are.

                                                                           :)

My day in an (egg)shell

On this bright day I was quarantined to the house, unable to leave due the the 1/4" of melting snow on the ground. My mother is the cautious type, much like this when it comes to snow First Snowflake Freakout Lady. But, I didn't mind too much. I baked delicious cookies, cleaned my so-messy-almost-to-being-offensive room. Also watching old movies with the family :) Good Day.

Assisted by my good friend, Eggy

miam!

And watched these fantastic old musicals and western.
It was grand.

P.s. Sorry for the long post, but hey! Did I tell y'all that I got my license? Yuh I did! On Friday the 13th too. It was actually quite a lucky day for me because later I scored on a pair of shoes for only $6 and a pair of $1 tights. And missing lots of school, a mental health day I like to say.
Anywho!

Ahhhhhh! I can drive, I can drive! :)

SNOW, I KNOW!

Guys, it was snowing earlier. on my little Foxy isloan- there was snow! :)

First of the year :)

Too bad none of it sticks. But hey- at least I got a glimpse of it this year.
Somedays,
I think why must I live here?, in a dreary town that rains all year most of the year and cold.
It's rainy, it's wet and mushy as I step outside.
To make matters worse, I live on an Island.
20 minutes, sometimes 30 depending on who is driving, from EVERYWHERE.
Yes, quite literally, everywhere.

But,
I also get to cross over a bridge everyday,
when I go everywhere.
And  see this view from both sides.

Maybe this is why I live here.

Because of the beautiful sunrises I see each morning
on my way to school.
The forever green color (my favorite to be honest)
The cooling moisture of the Pacific Northwest.
Because of the little white washed lighthouse
the smell of the bay
the little crabs scurrying away
the early, blinding fog somedays
and the rocky beaches.

Yes.
This is why I live here
:)
This is why I love it
too.

P.s. While I was exploring the beach, I stumbled apon this little lovely. Isn't it sweet? A complete stranger leaving a note for their loved one, and I get the chance to see it. Made my day. I hope Kyle loves them back :)

To the music , I say!

You know that music where you think to yourself wow, that is kind of really strange and you don't exactly know how you feel about it? Your heads saying "THIS IS SO COOL" but  also telling you "What in the world...?"
Well, that is what initially occurred to me when I found this video/song.
But in the end, it was really the "THIS IS SO COOL" that stood out to me.
:)

This is a little strange at first, but it's really cool. I wish I could be artsy like this.

P.s. Look at his eyes! They are quite attractive.

Quote of the Week

Forever my favorite

Meet my grandma Helen.
Born in 1929 she is 82 and still kicking!
Probably one of the most optomistic and funny people I know.
She looooves icecream
And my Dad- oh man! Talk about a mama's boy...
One of her favorite things to say is "Uff da"
which is her dutch coming out.
Sometimes she has a temper and quite the sassy pant'
but I love her anyway.

One day i hope to be just like her.

p.s. Look at all those laugh lines! :) she has had a good time in her life, I can tell.

I have been a Terrible Blogger.

I sincerely apologize for being such a terrible blogger lately.
I have been super busy running my booty off
at school doing track and field training.
 Not to mention
I am quite lacking in the creative department right now.
So,
I hope you all accept my apology
and don't hate on my blog just yet,
because there is much to come!
I'm feelin' it :)

But while I'm at it, here is a (much late) Quote of the week!
