Wise Words

"One boy, one brain. Two boys, half of a brain. Three boys together- no brain at all." - My father.

This explains so much, the world makes sense again.

Reminiscent of a long passed summer

Half Dome. Yosemite. Best place ever.
Today I am dreaming of being back in summer. In hot, hot, hot weather. Climbing rocks and hiking, discovering new places. Ahhh, yes. Happiness is there.

Sun, sun, the sun did come!

And I have proof.

Like every decent washingtonian, when I saw that long lost and dearly missed glimmer of light peeking in through my window in the early hours, I opened my eyes and questioned what it was.
Until, I finally remembered how each year during the summer I seemed to fleetingly meet this glowing orb, and it all came back to me.
Seeing it again, I knew I had to live up to the standards of where I live and rush outside to catch a glimpse of this rare occurence, I must join the flocks of people coming out from their hiding places to see this wonderful thing before it leaves them in the dark, dreary clouds again!

Okay, okay-
so I might exagerate a little bit, but the sun kind of is a big deal here in Feburary. And I did react like a true and decent washingtonian by donning a summer dress, boat shoes and going to the beach (to tan my cheeks) in the 50 degree weather. Ahhh, the sun was so nice and warm on my numb hands.
So, to document this wonderous day I took pictures of lovely Miss Sperry.

We had fun.

What a babe...

And we found clay babies

We couldn't NOT have a jumping photo!

Just one of "those" days

Yeah.
One of those days.
Everyone knows them.
The days that are just so awkwardly bad and yet brilliant at the same time you can't decide what to call it.

Like when you're so super tired you don't remember what happened in your first period class,
You could've recited the Harry Potter series backwards or just slept through the period for all you know.
When pms-ing boys get upset when you change the box in the weightroom for your turn. Don't get your panties in a twist, boy-you have muscles too, just move it back when it's your turn!
When chocolate gives you acne.
People not following through with what they promised.
Feeling like you disappoint someone.
Changing lunches at the end of semester. But you're one of two from your original lunch to change.
When you have to think about COLLEGE. Ugh, gross. I'm getting so old...
Feeling like you haven't been nice enough all day.
Trying to avoid, with all you might, not to bump elbows, breathe too loudly, touch knees on accident or do anything too strange/weird at all costs to the "popular" guy in the seat next to you reading the same textbook as you in silence,
so as not to embarass yourself too terribly.

This is definitely the feeling I've had while contemplating my life today.

But, they are also...
The days when yout you have the best car ride to school EVER,
and I mean fo eva.
When you get a new lunch but find out there are some good human beings whom you are quite familiar with
Getting a new class start off by letting you choose what you want to learn
The new teacher mentions learning about whale poop and scuba diving.
And mermaids.
And coral reefs.
And critters.
And algae art.
So funny.
So amazing
:)
Eating fruity snacks after a run and lifting weights.
Feeling pretty.
Doing well on a chem test you thought you bombed (Like pearl harbor-bombed).
Like not having much homework.
Watching old western movies like a geek.
Having awesome ideas for my tolo date.
For having best friends
and cute people whom you want to be better friends with be nice to you.
Having to think about COLLEGE! eeeeep! Excitement! :)
When you think about how amazing this years track season is going to be, running a new event.
Thinking about next years Cross Country season. {It can't come soon enough}
When drawing slug dinosaurs is a perfectly acceptable activity in chemistry.
And thought trains involving magic, spitting, and gremlin fingers be completely normal.

Yes.
It was one of "those" days.
A ball of awkward (my life) rolled up in some goodness.
:)
